One of my favourite vegan spots in the city! It's a hidden gem that is a walk and a half from a bus stop, but the walk there was well worth it. The shop itself is quite small in size but you'll be guaranteed a seat in the restaurant. They also have reusable cutlery on the side for you to grab which is a nice flare for sustainability.
The staff here was great! At the front the lady was super patient with us, from letting us grab a FREE veggie samosa from a Yelp check in to giving us two beginners time to pronounce the dish's names.
What we really came here for though was the food and it was amazing. It wasn't authentic but I'm not a stickler for that. The one of the chickpea dishes I ate had a nice kick to it and were perfectly cooked. I could have laid off the dessert which looked to be a grain dish with coconut oil but it was still pleasant. There are still a couple things I would love to try there like the biryani so I do hope to see myself in the Veggie Thalil again. -

Great place for vegetarians - vegans too I believe as I don't think believe they use any dairy, egg, etc... In fact, it's good for anyone who enjoys good south Indian food.
Lots of options and I can't even remembered all I ordered as I also shared. Each dish was fresh, full of flavor and good value overall. The place is nice and quaint too.
Note: free samosa with Yelp check-in. -

We are vegan, and Indian with high standards for Indian food from California, and wanted to grab good Indian food. The reviews were a little mixed from other people so we were a little skeptical but overall, we enjoyed our food.
We got one biryani and one thali with aloo baingan, rajma, and saag, with papad on the side.
The aloo baingan was primarily aloo with one or two pieces of baingan but was good. The rajma and saag were spot on. The rajma was like daal makhani and the saag was like palak paneer. The rice portion was a little large for me so I wasted half. The salad consisted of raw onion and bell peppers. I would have liked more raw onion and didn't have a need for the bell pepper. I've never been given bell pepper like that at an Indian restaurant before so that was interesting. The halwa was above average. As stated in other reviews, I agree that it was a bit oily and the roti did seem like it could have been frozen, but still enjoyable. The papad could have been cooked a little longer.
The biryani was interesting. It reminded me of Mexican rice. It was moist though which was perfect so you don't feel the need for or miss the raita to go along with it. The biryani portion size was pretty big for one person so we had to leave about half behind.
The interior is on the smaller side but there are a handful of tables and chairs so there is seating.
Overall, keep these disclaimers in mind, but I do recommend. -

Pretty good! It's not authentic but I don't think they market themselves that way anyways. If you are used to food with spice I think you won't notice the heat much.
The place is very small with limited seating. My friend and I visited late afternoon and it wasn't that filled up.
I got the Thali lunch with chana masala, moong and dudhi. I really liked it and I finished my plate really quickly.
My friend redeemed a free samosa and we split it. To be honest I didn't really like it but I don't hate it. I personally wouldn't try it again.
The only negative thing about this place for me was the dessert since I didn't like the taste of the oil. -

Ok, so this is a great place if you are vegan and looking for some decent Indian food. However, if you are looking for authentic vegetarian Indian food, this is not the place for you. We actually didn't even realize it was a vegan restaurant until we arrived. We simply thought it was a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options.
I had found this place when I searched up Vegetarian Indian Food into Yelp. After looking at the reviews, it looked pretty decent and I decided to try it out.
We got the Veggie Thali and the Veggie Biryani. The Thali was just average, especially because there were limited quantities of Indian subjies you can make vegan. You will not find certain items like Paneer dishes(Indian Cheese ) or Malai dishes because they typically include dairy. It came with 3 subjies, 2 roties and a dessert. They did not allow us to substitute the dessert for an additional subji, but instead you would have to pay an additional $2 which I was not a fan of. The roties were also not in house made, they definitely tasted store bought, and simply heated up. The Veggie Biryani actually tasted pretty good, it was fragrant, full of veggies, and had a nice kick of spice to it.
The interior seems really new and clean, but it has limited seating, so takeout might be your best option if you're planning on going with more than 4 people. The staff is friendly and service is pretty fast . We did chat with one of the owners while our food was being made, and we asked them what they use instead of ghee ( clarified indian butter ) He told me they use a plant based ghee, which was not necessarily healthier, but it was vegan. Overall I don't think I would come back, but I would still definitely recommend it any of my vegan friends looking for a Vegan Indian Restaurant.
